Mini air compressors are a helpful tool to pack into your vehicle. You get the opportunity to inflate just about anything no matter where you happen to be. The Got Air portable mini air compressor fits right in with this description. Its 12v connection will let you inflate anything from a basketball to a car tire. It can be used in emergencies, when you take inner tubes out behind a boat, or when your soccer ball went a little flat over the winter. You can take it anywhere.
Tips and Tricks We Discovered with the Got Air Mini Compressor
First and foremost, this mini air compressor gets very, very hot when it is being used. Imagine touching the power supply brick for a computer and then multiplying that heat by 10x and you’ll get the idea of how hot the Got Air compressor gets. There’s a handle included with the design, but you might brush a knuckle against the unit. We recommend not using this mini compressor for more than about 10 minutes at a time.
Universal adapters don’t always work with this mini air compressor either. If the adapter doesn’t support a minimum of 14 amps, then you’re going to ruin this compressor. Trust us – the results aren’t pretty. Just don’t do it.
This doesn’t really limit its portability. It can cycle about 20 PSI into a single tire in just under 4 minutes. If you’re filling an air mattress, it takes about 6-10 minutes depending on its size. The nozzle screws into the brass valve stem, so you can have confidence that it won’t break down on you. For a sub-5lb compressor, it is well-built.
Features That Make the Got Air Mini Compressor Stand Out
The Got Air mini air compressor comes with a travel bag. There are pockets built into the side of the travel bag to store the extra nozzles and attachments that may be needed. You’re not going to want to stick this compressor in the bag when it is hot, but otherwise it is a pretty useful addition considering the price point of this compressor.
There is an attached hose that is made from rubber. It’s a fairly heavy duty rubber material, so using it in cold weather isn’t a problem. You won’t have to worry about it cracking or anything like that. You do need to be careful with the hose around the compressor when it is hot because the heat will affect the integrity of the hose.
You’ll receive a 10 foot power cord, which for most vehicles is good enough. For a van or other extended vehicle, which only has one 12v receptacle in the front, users may find it somewhat difficult to fill their back tires.
We were very pleased with the performance of this small inflator and think you will be as well. It can be hard to find products that are worth the price you’ll pay for them these days, but the Got Air portable mini air compressor will leave you feeling satisfied.
